Stakeholder governance | 2BSvs.org

About us

Stakeholder governance

Our association was created in 2012 by representatives of the biomass and biofuels industries, with the aim of meeting the requirements of the Renewable Energy Directive.

The founding members wanted to create a certification scheme to open the European market for sustainable players.

2BS provides simple, effective certification guidelines for economic operators, ensuring that regulations are interpreted as accurately as possible, avoiding over-demands.

In 2024, 2BS members approved a major change in the governance of 2BS. The existing representations were adjusted to allow the integration of the biogas sector and prepare for the possible arrival of new future partners.

This change in the organization’s status anchors 2BS in a strategic approach to diversification and growth.
