Biofuels
Depending on your status in the production chain, you’ll need to provide a self-declaration, sustainability declaration and/or proof of sustainability.
To find out all the practical information you need to know before your audit, contact us!
2BS certification comprises three documents: the self-declaration, the sustainability declaration and the proof of sustainability.
The self-declaration contains information on compliance with sustainability criteria and the type of methodology used to calculate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
The sustainability declaration identifies the material, its sustainability criteria and all activities related to greenhouse gas emissions throughout the chain.
The proof of sustainability provides essential information on the product’s sustainability criteria and the reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, compared with its fossil reference.

If you are a first gathering point, you will be audited according to the 2BS-STD-01 criteria.
Find out more about the criteria verified for this standard here.
If you are a trader, processor or final interface, you will be audited according to 2BS-STD-02.
Find out here all the criteria verified for this standard.
If you do not have an account yet, you can create it here.

The 2BS certification consists of three documents: the self-declaration, the sustainability declaration and the proof of sustainability.
The self-declaration contains information on compliance with the sustainability criteria and the type of methodology used to calculate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
The sustainability declaration makes it possible to identify the material, its sustainability criteria and all activities related to greenhouse gas emissions throughout the chain.
The proof of sustainability provides essential information on the product’s sustainability criteria and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, in relation to its fossil reference.

Depending on your status within the production chain, you will need to provide a self-declaration, a sustainability declaration and/or proof of sustainability.
There are three methods for calculating your GHG: use the RED II default values, use the NUTS2 values (values by region and by crop), or use your actual values. To assist you, we have implemented a calculator to help you estimate your greenhouse gas emissions more easily.
The 2BSvs certificate enables certified materials to be marketed under the sustainable label in all European countries.
Wood Energy
The 2BSvs – Wood energy certification is currently being recognized by the European Commission.
2BSXtra
2BSXtra can be used to certify raw materials intended for the food and feed markets, offering specific recognition for this sector.
It can be an independent certification or an add-on to 2BSvs, depending on the operator’s needs.
2BSXtra certifies agricultural biomass, such as wheat, barley or rapeseed, as well as waste and residues destined for the food and feed sectors.
Yes, FSA/SAI 3.0 equivalence can be obtained directly in France with 2BSXtra. In Europe, it can be obtained by adding the 2BS-ADD-01 add-on module.
SAI
SAI/FSA can certify the same raw materials as 2BSvs and 2BSXtra, including agricultural biomass as well as waste and residues destined for the food industry.
If you are a French customer, you need only be 2BSvs or 2BSXtra certified to claim FSA 3.0 equivalence. During the audit, verification of a separate mass balance for the part intended for the food market will be required.
Waste and residues
To access the European bioenergies market, all players in the supply chain (from the first gathering point) must be certified according to a sustainability scheme recognised by the European Commission under the RED II.

2BS training courses are currently ineligible for public funding (CPF, OPCO).
A Qualiopi certification project is currently being set up to qualify for this type of funding.
